Start with three lines
Open Price list (office app) or More, then Price list on the iPhone, and add the things you charge most:
- Your labour rate, per hour. Set the unit to hr.
- Your call-out fee, if you charge one.
- The five or ten parts you fit most, with what you pay (cost) and what you charge (sell).
Prices are ex GST. Adminroo adds GST on quotes and invoices if you're registered (Settings, Business details).
Bring in a supplier price file
Choose Import a price file and pick the CSV or spreadsheet from your wholesaler, old app or your own sheet. Adminroo reads the columns by their names. If the file only has your buy prices, set Markup % and it works out the sell price for you.
Importing again later updates the prices of items you already have, instead of adding them twice.
Kits for jobs you do often
A kit is a set of lines you add to a quote in one tap: a hot water swap, a downlight install, a service call. Make them in Kits and job templates.
Lines in a kit that come from your price list follow it: when a part's price goes up, the next quote made from the kit uses the new price. Quotes you've already sent keep theirs.
Good habits
- Keep the names short and plain: what the customer will read on the quote.
- Archive an item you've stopped using rather than deleting it; old quotes still show it.
- Field staff never see prices or costs, so the price list is for owners and office staff only.
